To make a meaningful and lasting impact on the process of European Building Performance Assessment and Certification, the EPC RECAST team has brought together 7 Horizon 2020 sister projects to form the Next-Gen EPCertificates cluster. The aim is to have a structured exchange on the innovative solutions that are being explored in each project to learn from each other and to find synergies to work together so that the impact of each project can be maximised at cluster level. The cluster is currently formed by the following projects:
– E-DYCE
– ePANACEA
– U-CERT
– X-tendo
In order to bring all projects together, regular closed workshops are organised. On 23 April 2021 the first closed workshop between the 7 projects was organised to gather inputs on synergies and the ongoing EPBD revision and the role of EPCs in this process. All 7 sister projects presented their objectives and innovative solutions, as well as a presentation on ALDREN which served as a precursor project for EPC projects. This was followed by a discussion on how the projects can support and improve the role of EPCs within the ongoing EPBD revision.
A second NDA-workshop between with sister projects is planned with the addition of 4 new projects that have started or will start in 2021 on EPC Certification and Assessment that will be part of the cluster. Further in-depth technical cooperation among all sister projects will be discussed, as well as shared opportunities for dissemination and communication activities.
